️⃣ Our body is made up of teeny-tiny cells. Each of these cells has a barrier around it known as the cell membrane (or the plasma membrane).
️⃣ The cell membrane is made up of fats (we also call them lipids!) , proteins and carbohydrates!
️⃣ The Fluid Mosaic Model is a model that describes the structure of the cell membrane.
️⃣ So basically you can imagine the cell membrane as a moving sea of fluid lipids which contains a mosaic of different proteins (seen in the second image).
️⃣ Think of the proteins like icebergs floating in a sea of lipids.
